i have a question, primarily for trinitarians, but anyone's more than welcome to comment.
what scriptural basis is there for believing in the trinity?
i can understand some having the view that jesus/jehovah both can be worshipped, and the view that jesus should be, but where in the bible is the holy spirit worshipped?

This means, should Jesus be an actual person, alive in Heaven, he's cool with 80% of the people professing belief in Him having the doctrine. If he's not OK with it, then he is admittedly a horrible communicator.
how do you expect Jesus to communicate with people? what methods do you think he would use to tell people that he's not OK with 80%

i have never been a jw always felt the "cult" was not something i wanted to get involved in.
anyway i hired a young man about a year ago to do a little remodel on my house i found out later he was a jw.

anyway I hired a young man about a year ago to do a little remodel on my house I found out later he was a JW. we talked a litttle about scripture and what he believed then he started to come to my door on sat in his nice suit. this really turned me off cause everythung he said sounded rehearsed. he only lives about 15 min from me and I have ran into him a couple of time in town and he wont hardly speak to me about anything that has to do with JWs. but has offered many times to come to the house to study. i totally feel uncomfortable letting him back in my house. i heard through the grapevine that he put me on a "list" that meant i was close to converting WRONG!!
it's been about 6 months since i've had any contact with this guy but he is constantly on my heart. i know that he is being missled and in turn is missleading others. after reading some post on this sight i understand that walking away from the JWs is very difficult. Is there anything I can do to help this guy out without getting him in trouble? i've thought about sending him stuff in the mail to read. good/bad idea? any suggestions would be appreciated thxs.

i know some might not agree with this but i believe this:
depression is not from God it is from the devil it is not a medical disease it is a demonic spirit.
meds can help the symptoms but not cure the problem
for me i know it was because i was a reader.. i began reading books at the age of 13, this was in the 1950's.
because there were some serious family problems i had two escapes i could count on reading and associating with my friends at the kingdom hall.. as i devoured steinbeck, hemingway, wolf etc.
my world view expanded....it had to.
I have never been a JW however my mom had a mother-in-law once who was a JW I wasn't very old so I don't remember a lot.
my ? is has any non JW ever helped you get out of the organization? if so how?
I met a young guy about a year ago who did some remodeling on my house and found out he was JW he tried his best to convert me but I have always felt very uncomfotable with the whole organization.
this young man only lives about 15 min from me i've ran into him a couple of times but it seems like when i catch him off guard he doesn't want to talk about JEH he only seems to want to give me his spill when it's saturday, he's on my front porch, and wearing a suit.
this young man is constantly on my heart that's what brought me to this sight i'm trying to learn the history of the JWs. I also have had many thoughts about sending him books in the mail for him to read, but haven't done so. Would this be a good idea? What should I send? Any ideas?
I've been reading this site for the last couple days and I have gotten a little discouraged by some. feeling like there is no way to help those still being lied to. like we're just suppose to cross our fingers and hope they see the REAL TRUTH.

I went to Africa to give these people material things and through the annointing of the HS He showed me that material things are not what they need bibles would do them no good if they do not understand what they are reading.
I was simply expressing the same point you just made which is that without the Holy Spirit we can do nothing for Christ.
You stated that they don't need buildings or bibles to learn about God (I agree) that they need the annointing of the HS. In your oppinion how do they recieve this annointing?

i prayed to him for years and years and received no response.

new here and find this sight very interesting just so you no up front i am a follower of Jesus Christ and attend a local church on a regular basis.
i have been studying the book of Acts and the journey of Paul ( use to call him apostal paul but this topic has opened my eyes to see that is not correct!! thxs)
Is the Bible the word of God? I believe it is. Has some of it's meaning been lost through translation? I believe so. that is why the Holy Spirit is so important.
I just returned from a mission trip in Ghana West Africa. This was my second trip over there. my eyes were opened to many things on this last trip that i did not see on my first trip. The biggest thing that God showed me was that we need to quit doing everything (money wise) for these people. what i mean was we were spending large amounts of money to give them bibles, build church buildings, buy drums, etc. which is not necessarly a bad thing but by doing this we were in no way teaching them to depend on the holy spirit.
When the church was first being established they didn't have the bible to read or big fancy buildings to meet in, so how did they learn about God? how did the church grow? where did the knowledge of Christ come from? Through pray by asking God to give them his wisdom and to teach them His ways and he did this through the Holy Spirit. Do I know all there is to know about the Holy Spirit? Absolutly not we must always be willing to learn and be willing to be taught.
